BTEC PORTFOLIO

A selection of projects created during my BTEC Film and TV Production course (2022–2024). These works include a short film, advertisement, and music video, showcasing my growth in storytelling, cinematography, editing, and collaboration. Each project reflects my development as a filmmaker and my ability to craft compelling narratives across various formats.

A visually rich short film exploring the story of the Jab Molassie, a legendary figure in Caribbean carnival. Through striking imagery and symbolism, Canboulay brings this cultural icon to life.

My Role
I independently wrote, directed, filmed, and edited Canboulay as my final project for my BTEC Film and TV Production course. With only my actor as a collaborator, I crafted an authentic and visually compelling tribute to my Caribbean heritage, refining my storytelling and technical skills in the process.

CANBOULAY

This motivational ad for World Health Day highlights the benefits of staying active. Featuring Aaron, a calisthenics and yoga instructor, it explores how movement strengthens both mind and body, supporting long-term well-being.

My Role
As part of my BTEC Film and TV Production coursework, I was tasked with creating an advertisement promoting the benefits of staying active. I handled every aspect of production including writing, directing, filming, and editing, crafting a visually engaging and inspiring piece that aligns with the WHO’s message on lifelong wellness.

End of Particular Things - The Medicine Cabinet

This eerie, found-footage-style music video, created as part of a group project, draws inspiration from The Blair Witch Project. It follows band members who are split up in a dark forest, feeling as though they are being chased by an unseen force. The chaotic handheld visuals amplify the tension, creating an immersive horror-like atmosphere.

My Role
In this collaborative group project, I fulfilled the role of camera operator and editor. I helped capture the unsettling energy of the forest chase with dynamic handheld shots and then brought it all together in post-production, using suspenseful editing to enhance the horror-inspired narrative while maintaining the intensity of the music.
